Maybe it'll be less bad if you drink or eat something with real ginger. Ginger is tested to work better than Dramamine. It is a bit 'hot' tasting, if you get the real thing, like candied ginger slices, or pickled sushi ginger.
Do you feel better on an empty stomach?
I find coffee makes an upset stomach worse. (coffee itself, as an herb, is diuretic/stimulant.)
Could it be the exhaust fumes making you more prone to queasiness?

Ginger
Staying well hydrated
Wrist bands with pressure pads
Holding book up so that your eyes still see the movement.
