I used to get really sick when I read in a car but now I use SeaBands and can read on airplanes and in cars (as long as it's not too bumpy or windy). It's fantastic! A whole new world has been opened up to me.

Only some of the time I get motion sickness while reading in a car (this happens especially when the ride's longer than an hour). Same thing applies to airplanes, although in my experience reading on an airplane has produced a less nauseating experience than in a car. I wonder why that is . . .

I feel lightheaded when I'm reading in a car even if it's a book or if it's an ebook. I kinda envy those people who can read everywhere.

Me too. Sometimes concentration breaks off and I'm trying to keep myself from becoming light-headed.

Here too, I find when I chew gum it helps. If I'm stuck in the car for a long trip I take motion sickness medicine so I can read lol

I have gotten carsick ever since I was a kid. The only thing that helps is taking some Dramamine. It relaxes my stomach enough that I can actually get some reading done. It is not a complete fix, but you will be able to get some more reading done. Just make sure to take the non-drowsy formula or you will pass out!

I always get sick when I read in a car. Sometimes I can read while on the subway but I have to be going in the same direction as the train car is otherwise I do get carsick. It sucks because I could've gotten a lot more reading done if I didn't get carsick so easily.

I generally am okay with reading in the car. The only issue I had was when me and my husband were in Yellowstone and we were on all those winding roads! I had to close my eyes for a while and drink water. However, I wasn't able to read in the car on the winding roads again. So I agree, audio books might be the way to go.

I did some research and there is a theory where a professor believes if all your senses are not agreeing then the end result can be motion sickness. For example, when you are looking down at your book or phone and your body is stationery but your peripheral vision is moving and the sound in your ears is not matching the motion in your eyes the you get motion sick.
