Just wonderingis it worth subscribing to magazines on e-readers? My kindle only has grey scale so any pictures or blurbs are going to lose their punch.

I love ebooks but strangely it doesn,t work with magazines. I love the big color pages and flicking through. Def not the same with a tablet.

I have a free digest but have also paid for some. If you can get the physical copy that is the better way to go as you do not get the full magazine but the key articles. Also some formats are just hard to use. I only have one free digest now.

You can "subscribe" to certain thinks using Calibre's fetch news feature. Very handy.

I think a lot of it would depend on what type of magazine you're subscribing to. I am debating the writing magazines because it's the text I am after, not pictures.

I wouldn't subscribe to a magazine on my e-reader. I would either buy the hard copy or subscribe on a tablet PC or iPad - you would lose quite a lot of colour and imagination if you had everything minimised and forced into black and white.

I like my electronic mag subscriptions since I can page through them without 50 of those annoying cards falling out. But I do use a tablet though.

I find it quite hard to read magazines on tablets because you often have to zoom in and out of articles to read the text, so I much prefer the whole thing to take in on a single page.
