Re: Book or Nook?

Exactly how i feel about the ebooks, always have to worry about a charger.. there is also worrying bout if you will have enough light for the books or the exact book light.. i have gone through plenty of book lights and its so hard to find the correct one and if you do all of sudden they stop selling it.

my reasons for Nook love are legion...

*It's the same weight no matter how many books I take with me. I can easily take the book I'm almost done with and the reads I'm trying to decide between with no problem. Traveling with a library means I always have the right book to suit my mood.
*It fits in my bag so I always have something to read during unexpected or overlong waits.
*My pages and covers don't yellow, mildew, stick or become damaged or dusty.
*My bookmarks stays in place whether I'm reading 1 or 5 books no matter how long it takes me to get back to it.
*Neither bad weather, late hours, holidays or distance stop me from shopping for a new book or borrowing one from the library.
*I can enjoy reading anything I want, wherever I am without unnecessary conversation or judgment.
*I can adjust the type.
*I can easily search for or highlight words and phrases I may want to use in a review.
*It's easy to charge overnight when I charge my phone or on the portable charging station I travel with.

Preferably EReaders (and/or Nook) over paperback books.

I love reading physical books. It always feels great to have a new book and flip its pages. I enjoy that and It even protects my eyes from getting hurt.

I used to be adamant about not owning an Ereader of any kind. I think that changed after I got the Kindle app on my iPhone. I found it a lot easier to grow my library electronically, but difficult to read on my iPhone, even with the larger screens. I ended up buying the Kindle Fire, which I love. I wish I could put the nook app on it, but I understand completely why Amazon wouldn't want that. I do find myself reading more now that I use my Fire. I carry it around with me while I'm cleaning and stuff. If I don't have it, but I have my phone, I can sync the app to pick up where I left off in my book. And, I don't have to wait long for my next book. It's all literally at my fingertips.
I love reading real paper bound books, I just got sucked into the convenience of technology. ?

I'd choose "or" because I don't have both. 😄
I don't own a physical book and Nook is not available in this country.

Good thing, I came across a free ereader app on Google Play Store. It's name is ereader Prestigio. It offers lot of free books and it works like Amazon Kindle.

I got my Kindle 4 years back and I am loving it so much. I love the inbuilt light and the dictionary functionality in it.

Books are so much easier to use because you don't have to worry about light hurting your eyes or charge it. The disadvantages to that are when its dark the Nook would be more useful because of the light it projects. But I think the Book is way better.

While it's nice to have an e-reader filled with books, I still love the feel of an actual book in my hands. Technology can never beat that.

I have used both books and a nook before. Personally, I prefer the book, but like you said there are pros and cons to both. I simply enjoy having the physical copy in my hand because it feels more personal to me than having an electronic copy.

You know for never having a nook you brought up a great point that I can't believe I wouldn't have thought of. Yes paperbacks or hardcovers don't run out of battery! I don't even notice that anymore. I have a charger that I can reach in my bed and one that reaches the couch-my two favorite reading places. I really wanted to try the nook as unlike with books you can make the font larger and then I don't have to wear reading glasses!
