Has anyone read an enhanced e-book?

I've noticed as I've navigated around the Amazon Kindle store that a few e-books are called "enhanced." Has anyone read one? What is enhanced? Does it add to the reading experience or detract from it?

I just got The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. It is the enhanced edition. I haven't read the book, I just tried it out. I like being able to refrence the historical facts. When I read 11/22/63 I found myself googling different information and timelines. An enhanced edition would have come in very handy!

So that sounds like it jumps to a footnote at certain points in the book or is it more than that?

Yes, basically that's what it is. It does have a lot of information. You choose if you want to click on it or not. I'll be reading the book probably in a couple of weeks. There's a couple of books I want to read before I get to that one.
