Personally though, I thank you for reviewing this book. It actually sounds very interesting to me because I have been quite fascinated with the Garden of Eden lately. I will definitely check this book out.
I think that you would enjoy this book. It's very insightful!

rssllue wrote:Nice review! The idea of our good outweighing our bad is definitely a flawed one based upon what God's Word tells us. If that were the case, Jesus wouldn't have had to come and die for sinners in the first place! God has His standard, and we all fall short of it because of that sin. This sounds like an interesting book to read to see how the author portrays all of this. Really great job on the review!
Thanks! Everything that you've said is true, but it's amazingly how often believers forget these truths!

You are most welcome! :tiphat:

And agreed! It is very sad that this is often the case.

I just finished reading this book and I too gave it 4 out of 4 stars. I felt like it was well written and had some interesting theories. I didn't necessarily agree with everything that was in it but his writing was insightful and got me thinking which is what a good book should do!

Latest Review: You Are A Christian. NOW WHAT? by James Rondinone

Post by Jaime Lync »

Your review was nicely written.
I am one of those Christians with a more orthodox viewpoint when it comes to the fictional stories of Adam and Eve in Reverend Combs book. Some of them seemed very far stretched, especially where he suggest that Lions were carnivores before the fall of man and that Adam feared for his life that the Lion might eat him - the scripture tells us that Adam had dominion over the Earth - animals included and I doubt that Adam experienced fear before he ate of the forbidden fruit.
However, I do share the central view of the book with the author that sin is more than just a list of misdeeds but rather an adversary crouching at the door, fighting for dominion of our lives.

Combs.the book is so amazing as it explains how sin started on earth .and the most interesting part is when he explains it with scriptures from the bible.thus anyone who doesn't read the bible would probably start reading at least a verse everyday.I rate the book 4 stars out of 4

The book "Who told you that you were naked" is a masterpiece of human relationship with his creator. Sin and redemption is our story too.

I think your review has done this book some justice. I read a different review of the same book. Yours was a lot better in terms of explaining the overall approach of the book as well as the criticisms. It was eloquently stated. Thanks. :)

I just finished reading this book. I have to agree with you on some of the things that you highlighted in your review. Most especially the part where you mention that the author provided insights that did not have any biblical backing. Great review.
