Great review. Going from a pool shark to a pastor to raising alligators sounds like an interesting story. I'll have to check it out. Congratulations on being BOTD!

Thank you very much for this review.
I also spotted a typo, but the book was so entertaining that I quickly forgot about it. I think I need to write my memoir one day, even if I do it just for myself, because it is beautiful to bring back the stories that we shared with so many people.

Great review! I'm a little hesitant about reading religious books, but I'm glad the book wasn't preachy. Hopefully the grammatical errors can be fixed though!

Sounds like a really interesting character. I can't say that I read biography's very often, but I'd love to pick this one up.

Unique as far as content, this is a book I will probably read as a result of the Rachaelamb 1 review. The sample only goes up to the author's childhood although it ends on an interesting high note which should motivate readers further. The reviewer assures us that despite having been written by a pastor, it does not get overly "preachy."

Great job on the review! It's too bad about the errors. It sounds like this book would still be worth reading. I can't wait to find out what led to the author venturing into such a unique business!

Thanks for the review. It sounds like this could be an exciting tale...just like I am sure Steve Irwin's life would have been like had he not died so young. Alligators can be a fascinating and dangerous thing and I applaud anyone who is able to live to be able to write a memoir about it!

What a lovely read, oh to have been around as a child when life seemed so simple with no gadgets to ruin childhood. John D. will can only become a more captivating character as the book goes on. It must be smashing to live a life interesting enough for other to want to read about it.

Sounds like a great book, and I would certainly want to read it if not for the grammatical errors. I'm not perfect myself, but I find it so distracted when reading something w/ errors like that. Thanks for the great review, though.

I would love to read this book, if not for the grammatical errors. I'm not perfect myself, but I find it so distracting when there are glaring errors like that. Thanks for the great review, though.

That's too bad about the grammatical errors, because it sounds like this is a fantastic book! Pacing can be so difficult to get right sometimes, it's good to hear that Hudson was able to.

Great review!

What an interesting and adventurous life this man had. Wow, I can't imagine doing all of that. I had thought at first when reading the blurb on the book, that it was one I really was not interested in reading but your review may have changed my mind. Thanks!

How funny, I just read a memoir that involved an alligator! Who knew here'd be another one.

Alligator by John D Hudson is a very amusing book. Even though he was a preacher. He had a passion for alligators. During so he had alligator farms. He even shipped them to different places. He didn't believe they were dangerous. What about you?
