This sounds like a loving and thoughtful book. Having had loved ones with the disease, it definitely would have been helpful to have a guidebook on what to expect. Thanks for the great review!

Thanks for the review. It is so sad to read stories such as these. I am glad that you were able to rate this a 4 out of 4 given that she was caring for him and writing at the same time. It is nice to see people share their uncomfortable and sad situations in order to help others.

Well-written and informative review! While reading the sample, I enjoyed the author's style of writing. She seems very relatable. This book sounds like it is an informative read for everyone affected by this horrible disease.

Dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia is not an easy thing to do. Reading from a person who has a first hand experience is insightful and makes understanding and caring for people inflicted with those disease easier.

I forget things on a daily basis. When someone catches me forgetting even the most basic things, I jokingly say that I might be showing early signs of Alzheimer. However, this disease is definitely no joking matter. Although I say it with a laugh, inside I'm terrified; what if this joke comes back to bite me. Somehow, I've always been scared of this problem. I'll surely read this book, if only to understand what to do if somebody is diagnosed with Alzheimer.

Very touching book. I Think author has done a great thing in giving early tell-tale symptoms. Very nice review.

In this wonderful and insightful book Anne Nixon details her struggles with learning "from scratch" how to care for her beloved husband as he began the long and frustrating journey of coping with Alzheimer's. Though the book is not very long at only 50 pages, it is packed with valuable information that every caregiver, from novice to seasoned, can utilize and appreciate. I appreciate your well thought-out review for giving the highlights in a concise manner that is outlined with specific chapters and suggestions for the reader. Thank you for taking the time to offer your own suggestions as well, I agree that a clickable chapter list would make it easier for someone to instantly bring up the info needed for a specific problem, although in such a short book it is not necessarily a required addition, and I don't feel that this book suffers in any way without it! Thank you again for a commendable review that was to the point and very well written. Kudos!??

It sounds like this book will provide concrete advice as well as emotional support to those caring for a loved one with dementia. I wondered about the community resources section, specifically, whether it would be helpful for people everywhere or only local to the author's home.
