Thank you for a well throughout review. I don't think this one is for me though.

Sounds like a very interesting tale about life in Africa. I will definitely read it. Yes, i think it would have been better if translation of Swahili phrases was there in the book.
What is the most special thing I did today- I was MYSELF. Happy and in love and unapologetically myself.

I love autobiographies because these books are an excellent source of life-wisdom. Learning from other people's lives is always a great idea. That's why I believe I'll love this book.

I enjoy the idea of hearing about the author's experience growing up in Africa. I would be interested to hear how his life, his perspectives, and life in general in that country have evolved during his lifetime. We can clearly see a few differences in the phrasing the review mentions that is no longer considered appropriate. I'd be interested to hear about what else is notably different that we might never have thought of.

Great review! it sounds like a nice book to read. Being an African, i would like to understand what really happened during the colonial period and that for sure creates our history.

Ohh! I definately will read this book it gives an exact image of this African boy during those days... the suffering, secret enjoyments and segregation between African children them selves and then their relatioship with the outsiders, ohhh! So touching...
It remimds me of A noval i read in high school "lord of the flies"...

These books make me wonder in thoughts about how the colonial time must have looked like.

A good book to gain knowledge about Africa. Also a good insight in guiding our kids while they grow. Good review too.

I want to read The Slope of Kongwa Hill because it is a book about life living in hardship. I love your outstanding review in that it discloses details about the book without a spoiler.
