Crossing The Eastern Front
By
Alan Stroe

The main character in this story was my favorite his name is Yoan Crisan. He, along with others is captured by the German army during World War II. During 1944 in Tureni, Translyvania. You will be able to hear and see the thunder of the shells as they explode all around you as you read this well written novel. Yoan and his neighbors suffer from hunger and the treatment they receive from the German soldiers. For a while they are given weapons, only to have them exchanged for shovels and spades. You can hear the pop, crackle, and whirring of small arms fire. While crossing the river Yoan almost drowns. This historical war novel gets my vote for 5 stars. I would enjoy reading more of Alan Stroe’s novels. He is an excellent storyteller with characters who suffer the ravages of war.
