The Republic of Pirates by Colin Woodard

Post by GoAskAlice »

If you are interested in the history of pirates this is a definite must read. It is so well written I felt I was reading a classic novel at times but it still provided me with facts, dates, people, and places. This book follows some of piracy's most infamous characters including the man that helped to quash the pirate republic. The detailed timeline gives a nice overview of piracy's rise and fall and presents a big picture that fills history with adventure.
