Great review! Much of the advice in this book does sound like common sense, but it might be novel to someone who worries excessively. When you are caught up in a pathological cycle of worrying, common sense kind of goes out the window.

Also, I loved your categories of self-help books, especially number two. That made me laugh out loud!

Thanks for your comment. As I mentioned in the review, this book won't be of much help to the "average" worrier. It's more for those who let worry control them. Maybe some of the techniques will be helpful for them.

Thanks! I think the audience is somewhat limited: those who worry significantly more than usual, but still have the wherewithal to rechart and redirect their own course without outside help.

Thank you, that is why I mentioned the three categories into which self-help books can be divided. In my opinion, self-help books are rarely helpful.

Excellent review. I think in your synopsis you may have given us all the benefit that the book has to offer the average Jane and Joe. Too bad that the self-help genre tends to be an oxymoron within itself. Nice job!

Sometimes self-help books "help" the author more than anyone else, I think.
