Official Review: Dating Death Match by Mike Bernsten

In a sincere effort to created harmony between the sexes, Mike Bernsten wrote Dating Death Match. This book complements the articles and dating advice that the author regularly shares on his website, datingexpressions.com. Bernsten has used the techniques that he presents and gives advice to “help guys overcome their inner battles and show that that they are worth women’s time.”

Dating Death Match gives insight into the things that women are looking for in men and explains the qualities that allow guys to be successful at getting dates. The main point of the book is to help guys gain the confidence to talk with women. It also tells guys what behavior undermines their ability to date women and reveals strategies that a guy can follow to improve the chance of getting a date.

In thirty-five pages, Bernsten speaks directly to the reader in a straight forward way. The main chapters in the book give insight into how to approach and attract women; what a guy needs to do while he his having a conversation with a woman; how to understand women, and reveals the signs that show a woman is attracted to a guy. The last section of the book focuses on texting etiquette.

The main themes of the book include: Dating tactics; preparation for a date and interacting with a woman while on a date. Bernsten gives a little bit of insight into which topics a guy can discuss with a woman when he is seeking a date or is actually on a date. There is also information about personal grooming; preparing to talk to a woman and techniques on how to approach a woman.

The main messages of the book are that a guy will not be successful at dating unless he takes certain actions and that a guy can still date beautiful women even if he doesn’t have a lot of money. It also send the message that guys need to let go of the traditional belief about being a “nice guy” and why being a “nice guy” causes women to place a guy in the “friend zone.”

I give this book 2 out of 4 stars. This book is a bit out of order. For instance, the topic “Conversing with Women” precedes “Conversation Practice.” Certain parts of the book are a little bit confusing. There are a few instances where it is difficult to understand what the author is referring to when he makes a few statements, and some of the author’s advice is a little bit vague.

Dating Death Match does not have any specific examples of Bernsten’s personal experiences with dating. There are no examples of questions that the author asked or details about conversations that he has had while he was in the process of getting to know the women that he personally interacted with and/or dated. The advice that is given would have been more persuasive if the author had included this information and cited the sources of the advice that was in the book.

In one section, Bernsten encourages guys to touch women in a respectful way. It is hard to understand why he gave this advice. Different cultures have different views about touching. In some cultures it is considered to be a sign of disrespect when a man puts his hands on a woman that he does not know very well. The author gives advice to Filipinas about dating people from other cultures on his web site. His readers need to be aware of the fact that they need to be careful about making physical contact with women that they do not know very well.

Although some readers may have a few objections to the advice that the author gives, and the structure of the book, the main messages of Dating Death Match are very positive. It’s great to see a guy helping out other guys. The author’s advice about how to stay out of the “friend zone” was very insightful; and even though portions of the book are repetitive, it is evident that the information was repeated to reiterate the advice that was given to guys so that they will remember the recommendations in the book and achieve their goal of getting a date.

This book can definitely help shy guys who lack confidence and have had trouble with dating women.
