The Sacred Search by Gary Thomas

Post by countrygirl »

This is an excellent book for young adults and early twenty-somethings who would appreciate some adult experience and insight regarding the foundations of healthy and mutually satisfying relationships. It is written from a Biblical Christian perspective, addressing both young men and young women. There are many good ideas for indicating whether or not the person you are spending time with might make a good marriage partner and future parent to your children. Gary Thomas is very balanced and does not try to promote a "one-size-fits-all" personality prototype, but he does address some common misconceptions and trouble spots, and encourages a reality check, especially for those in new relationships. If you are wondering if he or she might have the capacity to be "the one", give this book a serious read before you commit your heart.

I also thought this was a very good read for singles searching for a partner. Gary has a way of making traditional beliefs seem fresh and acceptable. He is very short, straight and to the point with his advice and ideas. His blog also reflects the same thoughts and Christian beliefs meshed with relatable situations. If you are seeking a partner or are in a relationship and trying to depict whether or not they might be the one, this book can be a great resource for you.
