I've read several really good creative nonfiction books recently, Jeannette Walls' The Glass Castle, Cheryl Strayed's Wild, and Truman Capotes In Cold Blood. All are captivating and interesting stories worth reading.

The Breathing Series by Rebecca Donovan, it was was one of the best series I have read in a long time. It was a quick pace, pick it up and you never want to stop reading it. Not my normal genre but I truly enjoyed it. Anyone else read that series?

I recently read King Leopold's Ghost by Adam Hochschild. It was so well-written and interesting that I actually forgot that I was reading non-fiction. The narrative flowed perfectly and it was very informative for me, since I hadn't known much regarding the African colonization that has taken place.

"Why Are They Crying?", a photo essay on Apartheid...I dropped off another book site over this question. One of the moderators was suggesting that maybe what the whites did to Africa wasn't all bad

The Killer of Little Shepherds by Douglas Starr - it's a story of a French serial killer who was active shortly after the time of Jack the Ripper. As the title implies, the killer made his way through the French countryside, so in an age without instant communication it took awhile for people to realize even that other murders had occurred than just the one that was found locally. The author does a masterful job of alternating chapters of the killer's, uh, progress with chapters describing the beginning development of forensic techniques and the scientists involved (M. Locard's name should be familiar to CSI fans) that eventually enabled not only the capture but also the proof of the killer's guilt. (Saying that they caught the guy is not a spoiler; it's on the jacket copy.) This book reads very smoothly and suspensefully despite that awareness of the eventual outcome, and I highly recommend it.

The most recent one I've read is The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made By Greg Sestero. It's about Greg's, who was an actor in the movie, experience on making the movie The Room. Let me just say, that if you have never seen the Room, go watch it then read this book. it gives alot of insight into the making of this movie, and the Director, Tommy Wiseau, who is behind it all. this book was absolutely fantastic.
