I recently (re)read Listening to Prozac by Peter Kramer. The author recounts a few case studies of patients who were prescribed Prozac for very different reasons. Among his conclusions is the very controversial idea that psychiatric drugs might benefit us more if we used them by choice rather than to treat an illness, since a number of his patients described themselves on Prozac as "better versions" of their natural selves. I'm not sure how I feel about this particular conclusion, but that doesn't affect how much I loved the book - it got me thinking about some things I hadn't considered before.

The Wine Savant by Michael Steinberger. Very nice anti-wine snob book by a self professed grape-nut. Very informative and entertaining :)

The Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan. It's about the Dustbowl Era of the 1930's in the south central USA. The book discusses how socio-economic factors combined with a decade-long drought and caused the worst natural disaster in the history of the United States. What happened and how people lived, suffered and survived is truly amazing.

" Why Animals don't get Heart Attacks but ppl do " by Dr. Mathias Rath...

It was a book of this genre that changed my life over 30 yrs. ago...

To sum it up Dr. Linus Pauling ( two time Nobel Laureate ) told his friend Dr. Rath: " Your discoveries are so important for millions of ppl that they threaten entire industries ... one day there may even be wars just to prevent this breakthrough from being widely accepted "

The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. Written by the professor as he was battling terminal cancer - it quite literally was his last lecture. It was so touching. He addressed all of the questions that makes one reflect on their life. He addressed his children, his wife and his friends. It really made me appreciate every word. The lecture was also taped and is online. I watched it (and cried). His wife has come out with a book now, I believe, and I am interested to see what she discusses!

I read The Diana Chronicles by Tina Brown, which chronicled the life of Princess Diana. It was a sad tale of what many would perceive to be a spoiled princess whose every wish was granted that was ultimately unfulfilled. I recommend this book for lovers of female biographies! Her charitable work is impressive (something that I did not know until reading the book) and Brown makes this biography feel almost like historical fiction with the impressive story structure.

I recently read "Bossypants" by Tina Fey. I'm a big fan of her comedy, so I wasn't disappointed.

Hmm difficult question. It's hard for me to get as enthusiastic about non fiction books as I do with fiction, and so I don't remember them as well. Perhaps Bryony Thomas' Watertight Marketing? It was a very thorough and entertaining read on the aspects of marketing that companies often forget to care about. I'd recommend it for anybody looking to get a solid foundation of marketing knowledge from a book with interactive exercises and a fun, lively vibe.

The Unpersuadbles. I thought it was just going to be debunking various anti-science things (Creationism, past lives, etc.), but it turned into an exploration of beliefs and what it means to be a believer.

The last good nonfiction book I read was The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. She is a fantastic writer. The book is memoirs of her childhood, living in poverty, and her eccentric parents. A great read.
