I really enjoy the books by Jonas Jonasson, the Swedish author who wrote the 100 year old man who climbed out of the window and disappeared. I've read all his books, and I just love his still, it's very different but enjoyable.

Check out anything by Ann Rice. Personally I really enjoyed her Mayfair Witch series which she tied into her vampire series. A more recent series I found totally intoxicating was by Chelsea Cain. The first book in the series is called Heartsick, and its not what you think. Its twisted, raw, and gritty.... its so good! I wish she'd write more!

Since you said you like Laurell k. Hamilton and Charlaine Harris, I would recommend that you try Jaqueline Carey. I've only read her Agent of Hel trilogy (loved it), but have heard that her other work is quite good. You could also try Kim Harrison's series on the hollows. And I would also suggest Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid series and Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. A lesser known series would be Alec Wright's Harbinger PI series.
Hope you like some or most of these!
