One odd note - I opened the email and clicked on the link 40 minutes after the email was sent to me, yet it said the Giveway was closed. Was the giveaway open for less than 40 minutes or was the email sent late?

I sent the email at about 1pm EST. I thought it took closer to 2 hours, but yes it went quickly.bookowlie wrote:Congrats to the winner!

It should be noted since the winner is chosen randomly, it would have been possible that the very first person to open the link could have won and then everyone else would have lost before opening the link. However, that's not what happened to have happened; it was a little over 280 people who clicked the link before Amazon chose a winner.
I'm thinking for the next giveaway I might have people choose numbers in advance and actually base it off the Play 4 state lottery here in CT. That way everyone can know it's fair and random but we don't have to work around Amazon Giveaway's procedures. What do you think?

Does it means it will be open for international members as well? Sounds good in that case, though not all are familiar with the Play 4 state lottery in CT.Scott wrote: I'm thinking for the next giveaway I might have people choose numbers in advance and actually base it off the Play 4 state lottery here in CT. Thanks for the explanation about the giveaway procedures. I thought maybe there was a glitch and some of the emails didn't go through on time.Scott wrote:I sent the email at about 1pm EST. I thought it took closer to 2 hours, but yes it went quickly.bookowlie wrote:Congrats to the winner!

I'm not sure how the Play 4 state lottery works, but it sounds like fun!

So we could use it as a 'random number generator' to determine the winner of this free giveaway.
That way we know I'm not "randomly" picking my sister as the winner.
That's why I used Amazon, so people could trust it's truly random, but this way we won't have to deal with Amazon Giveaway's nonsense limitations like only allowing USA residents to play.
