The Books of Elsewhere by Jacqueline West

Post by GoodBooksGoodReviews »

I tend to find the best book series in the "Children's Section". But the Books of Elsewhere are definitely for an older child. Not only does this series have a bit of a thriller aspect to it, but it also has a deadly mystery. Olive Dunwoody didn't suspect too much when her eccentric professor parents bought a grand old house after the recent death of its owner. But when she starts to see a little light flickering as if far off in one of the many paintings that are hung around the house, many questions begin to reveal themselves to her. What is the little light flickering in the painting? Why don't any of the paintings come off the walls? And what is with the cats that keep showing up around the house and watching her? One of the most thrilling and bone-chilling mysteries I've read to date, this book will keep you enraptured and in elsewhere from start to finish.
