I completely understand this. Reading about the abuse weren't my favorite scenes. Luckily throughout most of the book, Eve grows and we don't see scenes like that too often in her adulthood. Thank you!

I bought the book today and read it all in one sitting! I absolutely loved it and you are right this is more fantasy than anything. this is definitely a dark book but in a very good way. The dark stuff keeps the book very interesting. You were right to give this book a 4-star rating I'll be getting the second book tomorrow. I must know what happens!!!

p.s. sorry for the lack of punctuation i am typing on my phone lol

sounds like an interesting read, but I don't know if I will feel comfortable reading through the whole book. Thank you for the warning about the sorts of objectionable items that occur within the text.

I completely understand. As far as I remember there weren't a ton of scenes like this, but definitely a few and there were described pretty well.

This sounds like a very interesting book! I've been wanting another supernatural themed read lately, and the fact that it even has aspects of horror in it as well makes it sound even more intriguing! Thanks for the great review! Can't wait to start reading!

I like that you brought up the quick passage of time. I've seen this in several books as well and wonder how other readers do with it. Great review!

I actually read this review when it came out and thought that the story sounded very interested, but must have forgotten to leave a comment. Anyways, excellent reviews. I'm glad this is the Book of the Month, I might have missed it otherwise.

Great review! Your description of the book was really helpful! It sounds good even though I'm not a fan of dark reads. Wonderful job!

Sounds like a very interesting book, I like those stories where you can see how the character grows and evolves into something good or bad

Me personally I kinda gravitate towards books with darker elements in them because those elements are a part of who we all are. I really enjoyed reading your review and cannot wait to start reading this book for myself and enjoying! Two thumbs up for your review! Great job!

As I'm reading this book, I keep wondering about the development of the main character. For anyone who has read the book, how nuanced is our protagonist? At the beginning, it seemed like she had layers. Will that impression carry into the second half of the book?
