You have me wanting to read the book in a BIG way! What an enthusiastic review. And set in Wyoming...I can already imagine the descriptions of the beautiful, wide open landscape. Definitely adding this one to my list. Thanks!

p.s. looking forward to finding out what the dog's name is, too.

The author has seamlessly woven themes of fallible human nature, loss, friendship, love, hope, human trafficking, and prostitute. The message that life should go on and experienced to the fullest comes across loud and clear. In addition to the excellent job the author did in establishing a sense of place and characters, I also really liked the way he incorporated into the narrative the political issue, though I am not into politics. This added a sense of authenticity to the story. The chapters are relatively short and it keeps the action going. The plot has continuous twists in store, but it still manages to reflect the psychological depth of the characters.
The author sounds very skilled in the Thriller genre. The fallibility of human nature often comes up in books like this, but Dennis D. Wilson appears to orchestrate every twist and turn of the story masterfully through the multiple characters he uses. I'm especially looking forward to the story about Agent Dean Wister. :D

Brownie points indeed! And I'm so curious about the name now

Yes, please!! I'm getting this book immediately after I am done typing this! Your review convinced me! I like that you said the characters are well developed...lately I've started reading a few books and then set them to the side because this was lacking and I got bored! This must be the book I've been waiting for! Yippee!!

There's a lot going on in such a tranquil place! Murder, intrigue, trafficking, prostitution, ghosts, and a rescued dog... I have to know the dog's name now. This sounds pretty interesting, so thanks for writing such a detailed review!

What a great review. I love political thrillers and can't wait to read it, the sample hooked me right away. Dean talking to his wife's ghost at night sounds so sweet and him rescuing a abused dog just shot him up I'm my eyes. Congratulations on being BOTD!
