Someone Out There by Catherine Hunt

Post by ZoeyS »

Someone Out There by Catherine Hunt was a thriller that held some promise, but never really achieved its potential. The measure of a good thriller is, to me, how fast you tear through because you can't wait to see what happens next. This book never quite got there. I really felt that the "twist" occurred too early in the story, which took some of the urgency out of reading it. There are several characters from whose POV the story is told from, but the technique just didn't flow here, and the changes were somewhat distracting. Add to that there was no likeable characters- just several distasteful, selfish people who were trying to figure out a mystery you already know the answer to, and the book dragged in places. I would say were some good plot ideas in the midst of the muddle, it just needing some finessing.
