Can't wait to read this book! I live 2 hours from Dayton so it will be interesting to read a little history about the city. Great review!

I enjoyed your review. In light of the disjoint between chapters, I will be aware of that when reading it.
I am glad to see a book available in the True Crime genre, as it is my favorite.

Wow! What an unexpected turn of events, researching family history; leading to a book exposing cold cases! I applaud the author Brian Forschner for the patience, tenacity, and clarity to see it through to the end. I've heard it said that the blood cries out for justice, and justice will prevail (although that may take a long time).
Thank you bookowlie for the indepth review, and congrats to the author on BTD! An addition to my must read list!

Crime stories of this nature are not really my thing but the author did justice to it I must say. I have never being to Daytona but he was still able to carry me along. Nice book.

A fantastic review and I agree whole-heartedly!
I read the sample and immediately went on to buy the whole book. I was gripped after just a couple of pages.

I sampled this one for book of the day, and I was really impressed with the writing in the first part of the book. I agree with Gali, though. In the end, the subject matter just turned me off. It's unfortunate that the chapters are so long. I like that you mention how the author became interested in the subject. I love backstories like those. Great review as always!

Serial killers are a fascinating subject for me, but I had never heard of this guy before. That fact that it took place when criminal science was still in its infancy was maddening. Why can't they catch this guy when his m.o. was so obvious? Also, what made him let some girls go while killing others? I wanted the book to keep going and shed some light on his childhood, for that is where serial killers are made.

As a huge fan of serial killer (GREAT title for the book, too!) and true crime stories, this sounds like a MUST-read for me. Thanks for the warning, though, about each chapter equaling a different victim and crime; since I know about it going in, maybe it won't be too jarring.

I don't usually read thrillers or horrors because whatever I read or watch tends to seep into my dreams and then I can't sleep. However, this might be an exception. Thank you for your review.

This book will definitely be going on my "to read" list! I love reading true crime, especially about serial killers. I am going into forensic psychology and these books always are interesting to me! Thanks for such a great review of it, this is one killer I haven't heard much about at all.

True crime books always interest me for some reason. One that the author has a personal connection to is even more enticing. Thanks for the great review. I'm going to add this book to my ever growing to be read list.
