Anywoo, your review is thorough, well-structured, and I enjoyed reading it. Jack Mason; when I think of this name, I think of a guy with really big arms, like Robert De Niro in his prime, mixed up with a guy like John Cena from WWE. Characters that are flawed are among my favorite to read about (Batman over Superman). No one is perfect, which makes antiheroes so memorable when you read about them.
I agree! The best and most interesting characters are flawed. Robert DeNiro mixed together with a WWE guy...great imagery. However, I think Robert DeNiro is one of a kind.

I also tend to lean more towards antiheroes and I agree that the best kind of character are the ones that feel real and are flawed. :D

Well said bluemel4. I sometimes find antiheros to be much more relatable.

Exactly @Deee As long as the antiheroes are complex whole characters. If they are made a little too evil they almost become parodies of themselves. Luckily this is not the case in Acts of Violence.

You're so right @bluemel4. I just realized that a lot of antiheroes in books, movies, or tv shows are frequently written as goofy type characters.

This book reminds a little of The Fugitive move, which is based on a true story. The Harrison Ford character races against time to prove his innocence by finding out who the real killer is. In real life, I believe the man was exonerated of the crime after his death.

I don't want to give anything away but the book seemed more like a cross between Sin City's Marv character and the feel of the movie Frailty (2001). The book had a tripple twist which was awesome.

I just looked at this review again and noticed your recommendation about Gone Girl fans being a good match for this book. Well, I loved Gone Girl - the book, not the movie so much. Adding this book to my reading list.

Excellent review. A SF thriller with humor is a great combination.
