Sophie Hannah's Spilling CID series

Has anyone read her books? I highly recommend it if you enjoy crime fiction and psychological thrillers/chillers.
It's a British author so you get the quirkiness of British slang and colloquialism but the characters are so real - screwed up in their own way. The issues she deals with in each book from post-traumatic stress disorder to the perils of motherhood to cot deaths really hit you and she leaves you twisting until the very end. The crimes are so convoluted that this isn't really a simple whodunnit gambit but the intricacies woven through each plot and each character leaves you thinking about the book long after you've finished reading it.

If anyone reads it, start with Little Face, and I would love to discuss what you think about it :D

I'd love to know what you think. Her latest book Kind Of Cruel was just as good as her first ones - her storylines seem to get more and more bizarre - if you read the blurb, you're left thinking.....what? How is that going to work out - but imo she manages to put it all together satisfactorily......I know it seems like I'm peddling her books but seriously, haven't come across any one who has read her books, I'd like to know there's someone else out there!

Yay! Well, I seriously hope you enjoy her book(s), and even if you don't I'd still like to know what you think :D

I'd recommend starting with Little Face, even though I read The Other Half Lives (or it may be called The Dead Lie Down in other countries) first, I couldn't fully appreciate why the recurring characters were they way they are until I went back and read it from the beginning.
