Although I appreciate stories with magic and a focus on strong, healthy relationships, I am not sure this is the right story for me. I will have to give it a try and see if I agree that it drags a bit. I also have a hard time connecting with a naive main character :P so that puts me off a bit. I like the idea of a newfound lineage and talent, though, and that is intriguing.

Even in a book of paranormal, or even horror, leanings, family and friendships are important and it's great that she includes the element. Thanks for the great review!

Thank you for the review. I love dark fantasy and this one sounds great. It is good to know that there is a lot of killing and not suitable for younger readers.

Love your review. It really gives me a feel for the book and I love all things paranormal, so this sounds right up my alley. I sometimes get tripped up by pacing when reading so thank you for that as well. Still you've convinced me this need to be at the top of my TBR. Thank you.

Great review. I love dark fantasy and I enjoyed the sample. The themes of love and family which runs throughout the story combined with necromancy and magic sounds like a winner to me.

Thanks for the review! Are the undead zombie-like or more like ghosts?

Great review! The plot sounds like it would be very interesting. It seems like a book that would be hard to put down.

This is a lovely book I'd like to read completely. Prior to this I've not been really interested in witchcraft or magic but this novel really piques my interest. I love the authors twist around the issues of love and witchery all in one piece
