I actually have 4: Sansa, Jaime, Dany an Jon. Though all the characters are quite brilliant!

I only started book 4, so I might like different characters soon, but Jon and Jaime will always be first ;) Though Jon is getting a bit annoying and weird in book 4

Ugh, I can't stand Sansa! She seems very weak and silly to me, and very shallow. I have always liked Daenerys, up until Dance With Dragons. That whole book just seemed to spin it's wheels in place, and I'm unhappy with how she handled the dragons. I like Bran, and I think my other favorite is Arya. She is a better protagonist than some of the other women. I wish he would flesh out the magic adn white walkers though.

My faves are definitely Jon Snow and Arya. They are both really strong characters and a lot alike in many ways. I do also like Daenerys but I feel like she is very overrated because of the show.

I really like Tyrion as a character (and because he reads a lot) and his PoV are always good. But i love reading Cersei's PoV chapter because you get to see how she thinks of the othes and herself and I find it so entertaining! A Feast for Crows was a quick read for me because I enjoyed reading her!

The Starks are all interesting characters, but now that the story is becoming more complex, I can understand the author's need to give some of them the ax.

I haven't finished all the available books in the series yet, but Daenerys, Arya, and Jon Snow are my favorites; I will admit that Jon is one of my favorites purely because it lets me see Ghost.

I commented above on my favorite characters from the books. I am currently watching the TV show, and I am finding myself liking Tyrion more and more, as well was Jaime Lannister for a little while.

In the books, my favorites are Tyrion, Cersei and Sansa because of the way they are written. I do like Jon and Daenerys on the show and they are good characters but I find them dull in the books. There are also so many great minor or lesser characters throughout these books like Theon and the Mountain that are almost always entertaining.

Tyrion is head and shoulders (no pun intended) the best main character of the series. I also enjoy Arya, even if her story line slows down a bit in the last two books. Jon would probably be 3rd on my list, then Jaime

For secondary characters, I don't think you can beat the Hound. I also like Bronn, but he gets better play in the HBO series than the books.
