Great to read and compare reviews...sounds like you both think along the same lines as to the strengths and weaknesses of this book.

Although I'm not a YA fantasy fan, this one looks like it could be a veritable gem for lovers of the genre.

I was actually surprised to see that the recommended age on Amazon for this book was 12-18yrs old. I thought it would be younger, like 11-15yrs old. I haven't read the book though, so I could be totally off base. I also don't usually read fantasy, which is another reason why I could be completely wrong. I teach high school, and this book seems to appeal more to females than it does males. I just don't feel like this would be a book my female high school students would necessarily choose as a 16-18yr old, but I definitely see it as one a 7th or 8th grader would enjoy. I'm going to post it on our class recommended book board and see if there is any interest. In the other review I wrote that we have 9 sets of twins in our school, and I teach 5 of the sets! Being that this is about twins, one of them might just scoop this one up! :-) Thanks for your review!

You are right. Female heroines in a fantasy are few and far between. Sounds like this book is fairly well-done, and the twin aspect is fascinating. It's one I'll have to look into. Thanks.

I also like the fact that this is a female-led fantasy. The part throwing me off is that this seems to be for a younger audience. I like YA but having main characters who are only 14 is a bit too young for my taste.

This sounds like an interesting book! I like how the author uses young adult fantasy to touch on subjects like sisterhood and friendship! Great Review!

This book does looks promising, but, as you mentioned in the review, it tells another ''saving the world'' story so I'm afraid it might be a bit cliche. Hopefully I'm wrong. I do like the idea of twins living with different families as that's something refreshing to see and it will be interesting to read how that will develop in the storyline. Even though I am not very keen on reading books that revolve around magical elements, this review made me give the book a chance.

An adventure with twins and a magic mansion sounds like my kind of book. Congrats on being BOTD.

Great review. Seems to be a nice book except for the flaws. Probably will give it try. Thank you for this great review.

Although this doesn't sound like my cup of tea, I can see how this would appeal to a younger audience. I like the idea of a cozy fantasy, and I think the strong female leads are intriguing, but I can't help but feel I would be bored by this one. Thanks for the interesting review!
