This book talks about Loghain in the origns game he betrays everyone. Over here we see a young loghain and his motives and the enemy who ruined family life. We get to see, how he become the man he is now. He had to face struggles and overcame them and became commander of the army, and King marric friend and savior.

I felt the book was not well written. The story left large holes that might have been filled by having played the games. As a reader though these people are not well written. Motive and histories are left out for the most part for the two main characters. The villain is left as a classic bad guy. We as readers are not given any strong reason to hate him other than oooo.. bad guy over here.
