I really enjoyed Bernard Cornwell's Arthur books, but my younger brother has mentioned that Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle is his personal favorite. I haven't read them yet, but Lawhead did a fantastic Robin Hood series.

I have read one of the books of the Pendragon Cycle (Merlin, book 2), and it was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the read. I found Merlin and Arthur (book 3) at my local library at their Friends of the Library sale and took both away for 50 cents. However, I am having a hard time finding the other books in the cycle. I have checked the local libraries and Overdrive, but have yet to find them. I suppose I will have to buy them online!
