Only thing I'd like to know is what ends up happening to some of the important characters in the end that they don't really talk about much other than in passing.

Since then, I'he read an even better series, but I won't mention it as this thread is for HG.
I do prefer the book to the first film.

I agree - I think it's a style preference really as opposed to actual rating of the book. The third just seems a lot slower than either of the others. I did like seeing how much she played into how all of it was coming together, and even kind of wished we got to see more of that. Perhaps it was in very final sections where I felt like things were just all of a sudden wrapped up too quickly, I wanted more information.MollyKFarris wrote:I've heard from almost everyone I've talked to about this series that they didn't like the 3rd book, which kind of baffles me. Of course the first book is my favorite, but there was no point during the third book that I thought "Wow, this is really subpar." And I definitely like the third book better than the second; I liked getting to see more of the "world", and I liked that we got to see more of the big picture of what Katniss was involved in. I also liked that the third book acknowledged more of the shades of gray that are present in the real world as opposed to just having the whole book be "the good guys vs. the bad guys."
It still may be my favorite though because of how it all ends up working out - I still can't reread that without tearing up.

loved the second book
was kinda bored and disappointed with the third book
first movie was great
second movie looks amazing
I can't wait to see how this plays out in theatres - perhaps the third movie will be better than the third book (to me) - who knows...

Exactly what I thought. I really liked Battle Royale, but I enjoyed the fictional setting of the Humger Games Universe more.jacstar23 wrote:it's very similar to Battle Royale - except that isn't for kids despite it being about kids

Except for me, Mocking Jay was a bit too sci-fi and weird. It's setting was so different from the first two that I lost interest
