Re: Favorite Fantasy Book?

My favorite fantasy book would have to be any in the Lord of the Rings series. All of the books are just so good and stand the test of time.

Harry Potter hands down but I also enjoyed the chronicles of narnia, Percy jackson and the olympians, the kane chronicles, the heroes and the Olympians, his dark materials, the immortals, and hunger games. I am currently reading the beautiful creatures series.

The Septimus Heap books are great, by Angie Sage. I got hooked on Magyk (the first of the series) when it first came out and felt I had to read the others as they came out.
As a young teen I also loved The Riddles of Epsilon by Christine Morton-Shaw.
Recently, I haven't read much fantasy but would love to get back into it so this discussion has come up with some really good suggestions of what to read next!

There are a few for me. The Hobbit is always a great pick up at any time, I loved the Inheritance Saga, and as far as Sci-Fi I could read Ender's Shadow over and over.

I must say, I think the most creative settings of a fantasy books had to be the Narnia Series- C.S Lewis. Even though, Lord of the Rings is more popular choice. The most interesting fact about both authors is that used to meet up weekly and friends at one point too!

Can't really say that I've got a favorite fantasy book. I'd be lying then...

One of my favorite all around books is The Child Thief by Gerald Brom. It is a new take on Peter Pan and definitely not for children! Even though it contains a lot of magical creatures and situations it still somehow manages to make one think about real world issues and problems. If you haven't read it yet, please give it a try!

Well.....I grew up in the age of Harry Potter so that's definitely my favorite fantasy series of all time. But if I had to choose a non-series book I'd have to go with Inkheart all the way. The movie did it no justice ofcourse but still my absolute fave non-series fantasy book.

The Wheel of Time is a good one, if you want a very long series. I think it has 13 books, all around 1000 pages. Robert Jordan is a very detailed writer.

I have so many favourite books/authors to choose from, most of the books I tend to read are my favourites.
So far my favourite books are:
The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, (the only lengthy series I stuck with despite being written in 1rst person perspective),
The Shannara series by Terry Brooks,
The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind,
The Magician's Guild by Trudi Canavan,
The Pellinor Chronicles by Alison Croggon,
The Magician by Raymond E. Feist,
The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and
The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson.

I read The Hobbit my senior year of high school and it has remained one of my favorites since. But otherwise I would have to say Eragon. Not the Inheritance cycle because I didn't enjoy any of the other books.

My favourite fantasy book is 'Magician' by Raymond. E. Feist. I like the whole Rift War saga though.
