Congrat to the author for such a rave review! I love when an author develops the characters well and pays attention to details. I agree long chapters can make a book seem extra long. Fantastic review!

It'd be interesting to see how such a female-dominated society runs and how it differs from present society. This sounds like it could be interesting, but the length is scaring me a little.

Thanks for the great review! The fact that you enjoyed this book and your're not an avid fan of the genre means that much more. As one who does enjoy sci-fi, I know that I'll enjoy the read as well. This is like outer space techno Amazon's. Interested in the cliff hanger ending, although it is rather long.... must be a sequel right???
Congrats on BOTD!

I'm not really in the mood for this type of book, but the Society of Zon sounds interesting.

Your review of The Empire of the Zon by RM Burgess is so great because it is so explicit. I cannot wait to read the Sci-Fi novel. I liked the Eartha setting and disposition.

Thankful for such an insightful review. This book sounds fascinating and your review has prompted me to add this book on my "to read" shelf.

One note: There is no such thing as an original plot. Many stories can be traced back to Shakespeare. Since this is not your go-to genre, you don't recognize it. But the basic premise reminds me of the worst "Star Trek" episode ever : " Spock's Brain". The female 's live in a technology advanced underground society and the male savages above ground are merely breeding stock. However, beyond this initial point, there are vast differences in the stories. I enjoy a book with smart, strong women and look forward to reading this book.

Haha, the first thing I thought of with this was that it was about the Empire of Amazon! I wish this was a humorous story about Amazon taking over the world, but alas...

That being said, the book does sound super interesting and something I might like. Off to check out the sample on Amazon! (The Empire of Amazon!)

A good review a sounds like one I might enjoy reading, I do like the idea of the all female group and a bit of girl power, it's a bit different. However for me, it's a bit chunky at 800 pages so might leave it for a while as I've got lots on my to read.

This really does look like a very interesting premise. A Male abortion law? You have me intrigued! Thanks for a good review.

This sounds like a very unique approach to what is a traditionally male-centric genre. The short sample that I read proved that the writing is excellent and I can already see what you meant about the depth of the characters. Thank you for the review.

I REALLY want to read this book! It sounds so refreshing and unique! A society with all women? Who would have thought that such a place could even exist! I would love to read and see what the author does with the plot and characters! Thank you for the recommendation!
