This book seems like a good comedy. I think I would enjoy a book about a Mr. Mom.

I am in need of a good comedy. I love the aspect of stay at home Dad and the drama with stay at home moms! Great review.

Was this book nonfiction or at least based on true events? I feel like that would make or break this story for me... especially what you said about the supporting cast being painted into sort of stereotype character tropes - it would make this less of an issue if they were actually based on real people (if those people themselves fit those stereotypes)

It's a shame that the wife is written in that way. Seems it would have been better for her to be a more sympathetic character. Thanks for the constructive and detailed review. Great job!

It sounds like we've got some funny moments, but truthfully, the description of wild restaurant scenes and and disasters around every corner reminds me more of those silly "Kindergarten Cop" type movies where the clueless tough guy has to deal with naughty children. I like a comedy, but I prefer witty to silly. Thanks for such an informative review. It's sample time for me.

This book definitely sounds humorous. Reading about the kids' unruly antics in public and a frustrated father trying to deal with it does sound like a funny read. It's a shame about the pacing though. I like books to move forward with the plot. Great job on the review!

This was a nice focused review. Sometimes reviewers will hesitate to point out flaws in a book because of political correctness or a desire to be on the right side of a social concern, in this case, the willingness of dad to do his part so mom's career can go forward.

I read the first six chapters as a sample and I probably won't read more. If I did I would be looking for the parts where Liz finally divorces Rob. Liz is unlikeable as far as behavior. Rob (dad) is way too permissive. The scenes in the two restaurants he was thrown out of (so far) were painful for me to read. The humorous banter is good but the two kids are going to grow up to be Liz (unlikeable).
