Starting my 56th book of 2016. (I miscalculated on my last post lol). Has anyone read this book before? Has anyone read this book yet? And if so what did you think of it?

I'm going to begin reading it today. The summary looks good and can't wait.

I just finished the book and there were so many things wrong with it. It was built up much more than it really was. I was expecting some juicy secret from the summary, but it wasn't anything juicy at all what happened at the BBQ. There was only one character I could stand in the story, Clementine. The other characters had so many flaws that it was hard to even force yourself to find something good in them. The children were such brats. And Moriarty never indicated when the book was going back to present time after stating the previous chapter was in the past. Given 2 stars, it was just ok.

It was okay, not my favorite of her works. I'd give it a 2 out 4 stars. It was anticlimactic in many ways. I didn't see the children as acting like brats, as one of the posters indicated. I think they acted pretty typically for their ages. Learning more about Henry's involvement helped me to like him in the end. He had the truly sad story to share. I really despised Clementine's mom more than Erika's though. So manipulative and could have eased her daughter's guilty feelings had she shared what her granddaughter had told her.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.
