Thanks for the review! I really think we need more short stories in the mainstream book world. Short stories can be so powerful... so much said in only a few words. I'm excited about this one, I like that it is poems as well as short stories. Also, I like that you said no two stories are the same! Great review!

My stepfather is a war veteran. This sounds like an insightful book.

Great review, I liked the quote you took from the book. I'm going to read this. Most of my family has been to war so I think I might like this book on some level...

Thanks for the review. Very interesting book to read but the curses makes me cringed- difficult to read. But I tried to ignore and proceeded as the book is really a sincere narrative of soldiers suffering during and after the war, coming from a wife of a war veteran in Iraq. I still have to finish reading the book. Awesome review.

These short stories will touch a chord with anyone connected with the military either by experience or family ties. A lot of thought went into this collection.

This sounds like a great and even educational read. Although it's heartbreaking at times, I really enjoy hearing stories from soldiers about their experiences and this is a great way to display all of that information. Congratulations on the review and BOTD.

This sounds like an excellent collection of poems and prose. Enjoyed your review, and it's good to know that they are consistently high quality. Also like that the author offers up resources for vets who may need it. Look forward to reading this one!

Thank you for your insightful review. I've worked with veterans in several health care settings, and it's rare to meet one who has not been profoundly changed by war. Some function better than others, but it seems that combat experiences go with them for the rest of their lives...and how could they not? This book sounds very interesting.

I want to read No Peace After War by Claire St. Hilaire cover to cover. I like the review on that it does not have a spoiler and reveals its setting in the veteran's place in life as a heroic icon. I give 4 stars on this book.

Good review!
I just read the first ten pages of this one, and was wondering if the quality remained consistent throughout. Sounds like it does. Might just have to give it a go!
Well done!
