I agree with several of the comments such as Louise Rennison and Douglas Adams but I also must add Wishful Drinking by Carrie fisher, I actually embarassed myself reading that in public. (I believe I snorted a few times)
How happy is the blameless Vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd.

Has anyone read Gideon Defoe "The Pirates and their adventures with..." there are three books in the series. Ive read Adventures with Communists and Adventures with Scientists. They are ridiculously funny with the best footnotes in a book ever! I havent read Adventures with Whales yet, but look forward to it.

I agree! :D

I don't usually laugh out loud when I'm by myself, but that with that book I made some exceptions.

I have embarrassed myself by laughing out loud in public at Bill Bryson's books, especially "The Lost Continent." Dave Barry used to also have that effect on me, but his columns the past few years that he was active feel like he's lost it.

I haven't read very many humorous books, but I'm definitely going with Good Omens by Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett.

Bill Bryson also made me giggle aloud but it was "Notes from a small island" that really had me going.

The only book I've read that made me laugh out loud, was Naked by David Sedaris. I've heard that his books were filled with some good humor, so I hope to read more.

I also liked the tone used in Breakfast of Champions by Vonnegut. I'm currently reading Cat's Cradle, which is also a good one, so far.
