For anyone, preferably a dog lover with a really loopy sense of humor...some of it is crude but it's just perfectly on target
I love Hyperbole and a Half. I bought it for myself as a Christmas gift!

I also love most novels by Terry Pratchett. The one I think of first is one he wrote with Neil Gaiman called Good Omens. It was a hilarious read!

One of the funniest books I've read is Sherman Alexies' The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian. Written from the perspective of a teenage boy, the book manages to be both hilarious and thought-provoking at the same time.

"Here Kitty, Kitty" by Shelly Laurenston. I enjoyed all 3 books in the Magnus Pack series but the last one was laugh out loud!!! Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series does that for me as well.

Talk to the Snail: Ten Commandments for Understanding the French by Stephen Clarke is by far the funniest book I've ever read.

Strongly recommended for anyone who's ever been to France or met a Frenchman!

Hmm, tough one. Uh, I thought The Magnificent Twelve was rather funny, and John Dies at the End is kinda funny, for its sheer absurdity if nothing else, but I can't remember the name of the book I would consider the 'funniest book I've ever read'.

No time to read 30 pages of posts, so I hope nobody else has mentioned this, but mine would have to be any of P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves books. "Right Ho, Jeeves" is my fave. You know it's good when you try to read it to your significant other and not only can't sustain the requisite British accent, but can't get through the sentence without spitting with laughter.

The funniest book I've ever read is a book that I can't get anyone else in my family to read. It's a coming of age story called "The ZigZag Kid" by David Grossman.
