So very sad and shocking! I only conversed with him a few times, but he was always polite, knowledgeable, and full of good recommendations and ideas. May he rest in peace.

It actually took me a while to return to the forums after reading of his passing in my Facebook feed. It just doesn't feel like the place will be the same without him. Although, I show up as a new member, I was around before, and he and I has some great conversations about writing. His sage advice will be sorely missed, but I suggest all aspiring writers look up some of his posts in the writing forum. You may be gone, MT, but you will not be forgotten.

Wow. I just saw this (May 25th), and like everyone else who has posted, I am shocked. Moderntimes saw himself at being at the beginning of his novel-writing career, just starting the Mitch King series. (I hope I have the protagonist's name right.) It's sad that the series won't continue. We will miss Sam, for sure.

The good news is there are three novels in the Mitch King series. :)

... Yeah, but I was hoping for about 20. <sad smile> I am sure Sam was, too. Man knows not his time.

A man with wonderful insight into writing and human behaviour. If you consider all who have benefitted from his advice his influence will live on in the words of others for a long time to come.
