Yay!
OnlineBookClub presents Playing Hurt, the movie!

Any ideas for who you want to cast? I can play someone's mom. Hahaha.

What a fun thread. And a fantastic review. I don't care much about this time period, but your description and praise for the book are incredibly convincing.

I'm not much for history in general, but something about this one just called to me. I guess I made a good choice!

Playing Hurt is a good book of in those old days that use to be. The scenery took place in a time that you just wouldn't anticipate anything going wrong. However Brain and his football friends lost a very important football game. They never expected this to happen. Through the agony of pain. They still played on. Even with his girlfriend being angry with him. Neither of them realized that a new trouble was on the way with her past boyfriend. It seems like one thing after another. Only the strong will survive. This let's you know that anything can happen in a small town to. You don't have to have glimmer and lights for a crime to take place. Only the desire to commit the crime.

Sounds nice! It is good that the author succeeded in giving an accurate depiction of what it was like to be a teenager during this time. Thank you for the review!

Great review. A story of love mixed with teenage angst and an unforgettable night sounds interesting. Will be checking in out. Congrats on being BOTD.

Thank you for the great review! A realistic account of teenagers way back when sparks my interest. I always wondered what teenagers did when social media didn't exist, lol. I'm glad the author portrayed it so well. Congratulations to the author for receiving such a positive review!

Glad you enjoyed this book so much! Sounds like a thought provoking read; I think it's interesting that within the context of the setting, certain themes like sexism make the book seem more realistic. Great job on the review!

I don't think this would be my kind of book, with the high school characters and old school theme, but I am sure a lot of people would enjoy a trip down memory through this novel. Nonetheless thanks providing an engaging review.

This book sounds like the town I grew up in. Everything centers around football. I think I would enjoy it. Great review!
