Unofficial Book Review - Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend

Post by Anchortoemilie »

This book can be summed up in one phrase - it's captivating. Told in imaginary friend Budo's point of view, this book quickly becomes addicting. Budo was imagined by Max, an 8-year-old with undiagnosed Aspurger's Syndrome. Max imagined Budo intelligent and human-like, setting him apart from most other kid's imaginary friends. Budo, who tells this story in a childlike, whimsical way, also gives us a brute reality of the real world that Max had never seen before. That is, until he's put in a very dangerous situation. Budo is the only one who has the power to save him, although it may put his own life at risk. This story will pull at your heartstrings, make you laugh out loud, and cry all at the same time. Never have I read a story that captured my heart and attention as much as this novel. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a extraordinary book to ravish.

Thanks for bringing this book to my attention. I had a lot of projects I was looking forward to working on, today, but I made the mistake of picking it up this morning. I couldn't put it down. It took the whole day away from me, but none of the day was wasted as it was a great read.

I'm just in the beginning of this book. If it weren't for a major case of eye-strain I'd probably be at the end

I'm so thoroughly pleased that everyone found the book as intriguing as I did! I may just read it again later this year to see what else I can pull out of it.
