Great review! The setting sounds like a highlight of the story. I must agree with your comment about the cover. Before I was even finished reading the review, I started to think how inappropriate it is. A sexy, lingerie-clad woman doesn't seem to fit well in a story about child prostitution/rape. Mixed messages, to say the least.

I have actually added this to my own 'want to read' shelf.

The first book in the series is free. :)

Thanks PashaRu! I enjoy books with a distinct setting; in this case, I learned something about a town I am not familiar with.

Scott, Thanks for the heads up about the first book being free at the moment. :) Keep in mind that, based on the Amazon blurb, the first book doesn't have the same characters or setting.

Thanks! The story was really well done and the harsh subject matter was handled with great sensitivity.

I am looking to reading Book 3 in the series! Book 1 also looks interesting, but I am really chomping at the bit to read the next installment after loving Book 2.

I just added this to my Amazon shopping list. It is a long list already, but I do look forward to reading it somewhat soon.

Great review! This book sounds really interesting. While the harsh environment sounds very scary, I'm very curious to see if the protagonist can make it out of there and be successful. I think I'll have to add it to my To Read list.

I'd love to send you a free gift if you'd like Jesska. Always looking to share. Can't say it's a "good" story because of the subject matter, however it's real. Ironically the day after the book was released, a human trafficking story from my home town in Louisiana was all over the news. What are the odds? A lady sold her teenaged girls for drugs.

Same for you a Thimble and Fred. Sharing is caring :)
