New Contest Link! - Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite - USA only

Post by Scott »

UPDATE April 11, 2015: We are giving away 2 more tablets. Here is the contest link: https://giveaway.amazon.com/p/c992072848231f18

----

At approximately 9:00pm EST (2 hours from the time of this post), I will start an Amazon giveaway to give away a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (7-Inch, Blue-Green)!

Unfortunately, due to Amazon restrictions this is only available to residents in the USA.

Also, you will need to follow @TwBookClub on Twitter to enter. You can do this easily when entering the contest.

There are a few things I do not like about Amazon giveaways. Firstly, I originally planned to give away a Kindle Fire 7. But in what appears to be utter foolishness Amazon does not allow any Kindles to be used in their giveaway feature. It's one of very few product exclusions. So Amazon just cost themselves a Kindle sale and instead I chose Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite which is actually the number 1 selling new release product in the entire Computers & Accessories category.

The second thing I don't like is that Amazon requires me to pre-choose which entrant number wins (e.g. "202nd person to enter wins"). I wish it could be random since the whole reason I am going though Amazon is to keep the giveaway fair. Anyway, that's why I am pre-announcing the giveaway: so that lots of people have an equal chance. I am also going to say that I will not choose a number less than 10 and I will not choose a number higher than 500. Also, as soon as I get the link from Amazon for the giveaway in roughly 2 hours, I will post it as quickly as I can in all the following places:

- as a reply to this topic
- as a status on the OnlineBookClub.org Facebook page
- as a Tweet on Twitter through the OnlineBookClub.org account: @TwBookClub
- as an email to all registered members who have "Administrators can e-mail me information" set to "yes" in the User Control Panel.

I will try to post as quickly as I can to all of those locations so that everyone has an equal chance of getting it.

So stay tuned in the next couple hours for your chance to win!

Tell all your friends and family! The more people you know who you get to enter, the more of a chance someone you know wins!

If this contest goes well, I can do more! :D

This is an especially awesome offer for those of you who--despite my repeated recommendation--don't have an ereader yet! A tablet like this is great for reading ebooks!

Well, actually, it's an awesome offer for everyone. :) Stay tuned!

Things people usually say that are true in this case too: No purchase necessary to enter. One entry per person. Only available in the USA.

Wow that happened fast! In less than two hours nearly 400 people entered the contest and one of them one the prize. I am floored by the quick and massive response. I think we need to do another one of these very soon. Stay tuned.

A great idea! :)

A pity it is only available to residents in the USA. 8)

This is a great idea - especially as my ereader is broken ... Congratulations to whoever won ... wish I lived in America ... all the great prizes seem to come from there. It's a wonderful idea!

I will release another Amazon contest link later today since the last one went so fast. So stay tuned!

I am very sorry to all the many non-USA members. I wish Amazon didn't have that restriction. However, if you have any ideas for contests that we can run ourselves on this forum please let me know. I will come up with a new contest idea for next time that will be open internationally.

Okay guess you are right it doesn't matter how often I use Twitter, when there is a chance to throw my hat in the ring for a new tablet. Thanks Scott 8)
