@kniefelg, I havent read Naked Lunch but heres my 2 cents:

- If someone I respect and admire recommends a book to me I read it fast and furiously, and then I read it again more slowly. I rarely (although certainly more often now that I have joined this forum) read books people suggest to me, I can be pretty fickle. The books pick me not the other way around. I am not a writer though. Do you like to read books that are similar in style to what you write? I dont know if those are independent of each other but I would gather they are connected like thousands of tiny strings in a cats cradle. I dont know if that helps but as I said I havent read Naked Lunch....I have read thousands of other books though.

I have decided to read it only because I hear its very controversial and it would influence me.
