A Land More Kind Than Home
Wiley Cash, 2012
HarperCollns

The story is set in the Western North Carolina mountains and focuses on a nine year old boy, Jess, and his family. Jess is highly protective of his older, mute brother. Trouble happens when the boys get caught spying on their mother and her church minister. This sneak peak will have repercussions that thrust Jess into adulthood and brings painful events from the past to light. A Land More Kind Than Home is a tale of courage, cruelty, life, death and love.
