The Vampire Armand

Post by Sheila »

I was wondering what y'all thought of this book. I have read all the other books in this series expect this one because I hate Armand, but my sister and my husband swear I would like him if I read this book. So any thoughts?

I didn't finish it...not because of plots or characters but because I gave up on Anne Rice's style. It does make you understand Armand better though.

I like Armand more than the other vamps in Anne Rice's books now because of the Vampire Armand. It's definitely a good read. It makes you understand his obsession with Marius among other key things that make him who he is.

Armand is one of my favorite books ever. I've probably read it... at least 4 times. I can see how people might not like it (men... in general think its too... racy to say the least.)

Sometimes in Anne Rice books, the character driven books make you love them more or give you such a better look into their character that you don't really like them anymore. I loved Marius, but after Blood and Gold I just... wanted him to step back in the shadows! lol...

Hmm, having read all the Vampire Chronicles minus the last one, I'd certainly recommend Armand, but then I loved his character before reading it. But yeah, as Aemdis hinted, if your put off by a little (or a lot) blatant excuses for porn, it's a no-go. She is a porn writer, after all. But then if you've got this far you probably already know that!

I guess I will just have to break down and read it although I might put it at the end of to read list though, it probably will clear up a few things, although maybe after this long battle with my family I am afraid I will have to admit that they are right, and I will like Armand when I am done, but I am probably too stubborn to admit to that. Thanks for your thoughts

I don't usually read books like this but I did read the books in this series and loved Armand.

I really liked this book, and Armand became one of my favorite characters because of it.
I don't agree that it's a "porn" book
It's racy, but given what's been popular lately...? This is practically tame!
I've also read much worse, and I stay away from actual erotica, just not my taste.
