[Following is the official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Pattee Drake's Most Memorable Year" by Carol Lomenzo.]

Pattee Drake's Most Memorable Year, by Carol M. Lomenzo, is a coming of age fiction story about a 12 year old girl dealing with the pressures and stresses of school, family, friends, and boys.

The story is set in 1957. Pattee Drake is a 12 year old girl with firery red hair. Her father, a roof repairman, does not have worked lined up for the winter months, so Pattee is stressed out about her family moving or not moving. When the family decides not to move, Pattee is thrilled. She can now turn her attention and worries to more important things...boys. As February rolls around, love and Valentine's Day are all that the class can think about. Louise, Pattee's best friend, and Pattee talk about who they will give valentines to. Pattee decides her other friend Earl and her secret crush, Scott. In return, Pattee gets a secret valentine from Mister X. Who could this mystery man be?

Pattee Drake, who gained twenty pounds since last year, tried to lose the weight. Will her dream boy notice? And while she is so awe-strucken with Scott, will she notice another boy competing for her attention? Pick up a copy of Pattee Drake's Most Memorable Year, by Carol Lomenzo, to find out.

As a school teacher, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and give it 4 out of 4 stars. It is a wonderful, light hearted, innocent story. Pattee Drake's Most Memorable Year would be a wonderful book to have in a seventh or eighth grade classroom. Pattee Drake goes through a lot of the life changes that now-a-day twelve year old goes through and is a really relatable character. The only thing I would suggest to change is e cover art. Unfortunately, children judge books by their cover, so it needs to be captivating and eye catching.

Pattee Drake's Most Memorable Year, by Carol Lomenzo, is a story, set back in simpler times, where cell phones and wifi didn't rule. It is a simple story with loving and unforgettable characters. Take a stroll back in time to this simple world and pick up a copy of this wonderful story.
