Long? Than I suppose the 40+ or so book cycle about Midkemia called the Riftwar Cycle from Feist will suffice.

Try Robert Crais's Elvis Cole and Joe Pike series. They are very much like Coben's Bolitar and Lockwood
Maybe James Woods's Stone Barrington series. Light fare. Male oriented.

Try M Dibden's Aureslio Zen books. There is a recent PBS series from the 1st 3 Novels, and the books are Oh so much better. Mystery series set in Italy, 11 books.

twisty plots, tasty food, broody sexy, and if you make it to book 4, frickin funny ( more so if you get opera jokes).

good thread

Jennyfields: You have received a lot of great suggestions, and there are many others, such as Robin Cook's
Stapleton and Montgomery series (Medical thrillers) Robert Crais' Elvis Cole series, etc. One of the best outlets
for finding authors and their book series is Fantastic Fiction. If you like a particular author, the website offers
similar authors, and you can easily find the author and all the books he/she has written. I think you'll be busy with
the above series, but if you run out, the website can help you reload!!

As I was clicking submit, I thought of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, and Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series.
LOTS of books there!

I would love you to read mine and comment honestly on it. Is that possible? I'm currently on number two, and as soon as it goes to the publisher I will be working on number three. Fraid the series is not too long yet, but promises to be.

Follow the Dove by Catherine M. byrne.

i know this is an old post but if you are like me you are always looking for good books. the best series i read was the chronicles of thomas covenant, the unbeliever by stephen r donaldson. i read the first trilogy then reread it. then read the second trilogy then read all six books then reread all six. i think that's all. the characters are interesting and the story written in a way that made me stop and think. it's the first book i read that i hated the main character. at the same time, i understood why he was the way he was. it has been years since i read them and now i think i'll read them again!

Chick-a-dee wrote:How about Jean Auel's "Alya" series? It starts with "Clan of the Cave Bear" and you just grow with each book. I just love the characters and the description of the lands, adventures and everyday life of these people and times. I can hardly wait until the end of March when her last book of the series comes out.

The above is a fantastic series (I've read through it twice now) and I also enjoyed The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. It's Historical Fiction by way of Scotland via a time traveler of sorts ;) Again, a series I've read twice!
