LOL! Sounds like me. I have FOUR kids, age 5 and under. Getting sleep or even having time to read is a blessing. And I am a stay home mom with a YouTube channel. ><

You both put me to shame! Kudos for being able to get anything done.

Just to clarify on the theme: is it essentially the pointlessness of hatred and how it can go wrong???

I have a true story to tell but I really have to work on it.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

So A) Can I enter this as a 13 year old Brit? B) With the subject, does it basically just mean self-hatred and self-deprecation?

It's not a set genre but rather a set theme. It's expected that the story is original and exclusive, meaning you write it for the contest and only for the contest. There is a word maximum. You will get the theme and other details via a link in your email once you submit your entry.

After you submit your entry, you will be sent a link to get the rest of details/requirements for the story. That is the same link/page you will use to upload the story once it is done. I will also send out email reminders as the deadline approaches if I have not received a story from someone who has entered.

This should be fine as long as it is not X-rated. If you are familiar with (American?) movie ratings, I think R is acceptable but X is not.

Catcher in the Rye not only had swears but was fairly disturbing, for instance. And that's part of the curriculum in many high schools.

A) Yes.

B) You can interpret it how you want. We don't want all the stories to be the exact same as they would be no fun either.

You will upload the story on the same page you get the details for it. I will send out instructions by email.
