I'm in a tricky situation. I could not say that I believe in ghosts but I could not rather say that I don't. I used to be sceptic about paranormal things but now I think that a word 'normal' is limited to what we decide to be normal and it can be changed. Like it changes in time perspective (some things were not normal in ilder days, now they are normal). I imagine that science could prove that ghosts do exist... of course they would explain that in more normal words and would calm us all down.

Regardless of whether I believe in ghosts or not, I don't think that you should read a fictional story and read something that you don't agree with. It is the author's fictional world. I think it is unfair to judge a book that is completely fictional as though it should be fact. After having said that, I don't believe in things that I can't see. Since I have never had any factual evidence for ghosts myself, I don't believe.

I don't believe in ghosts in reality, but that doesn't effect my opinion of them in fiction. I also don't believe in Fae, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying novels about them.

Ghosts are always fun to read about. They are something different I don't read about on a regular basis, so it's nice to see another fantasy element at play. Ghosts are especially fun because different books have different versions of the effects ghosts have on people, what they can do, whether they can be seen, etc.

I believe in Ghosts as I believe in Jesus Christ because the Bible says that there is a Holy Ghost. Since we are made in His image we can also believe that each of us has a ghost only it is not holy because our ghosts come from a body that used to be sinful except it is saved by His grace. I believe that if we are saved by the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross, our ghosts goes back to join with him wherever He is now. Those that are not saved have ghosts who are restless and don't know where they are going. They are not resting in peace like those that are with Jesus. They are waiting for the judgment in the end where they will be thrown into the lake of fire with Satan. These are the ghosts that are satanic, bad and scary. The way to banish them from bothering the living is to rebuke them in the name of Jesus to go away and leave the living alone in peace.

I don't know if will ever 100% believe in ghosts unless I actually see one. One of my co-workers has had many ghost events happen in the house she is trying to sell. She has had witnesses see them also. Even though I have often wondered if we have one in ours I still have yet to see it. So I think I will say at this point I sort of believe in them but will not until I actually see one

I'm not sure how to answer this question, like a lot of people here. I've never seen or heard what I believed was a ghost, but I would feel more comfortable saying I believe in the possibility of a "presence." Some people in my family have said they've seen and or felt ghosts and this "presence," and I trust that it's something that it not for everyone to believe; it's truly that person's own experience. So it doesn't matter what anyone else believes. It only matters if the person who experiences that entity has decided it's an apparition or a poltergeist, or whatever the individual has personal experience with.

For myself, I would never say that the house I grew up in was haunted, but if someone asked me about it, I'd ask them where they felt or experienced this strange oddity. If they identified where I've felt it, I'd ask more questions. If it was something that seemed off the wall to me, I'd probably dismiss it. That said, people have asked me if my "old house" was haunted. I've asked, "What do you mean?" I've not yet heard a question that made me think they were truly picking up on what I had. They'd just heard a rumor about a man who used to live in the house that I had never even met. I've even asked my dad about this "ghost," and he said it was just a rumor people like to spread because our house used to look "haunted" to people with a vivid imagination because it had needed a coat of paint for the past 30 years! Now, that I believed. Case closed!

I enjoy watching ghost shows and reading books with ghost, but I can never really answer the question about whether I believe in ghost or not. I usually just say I believe in unexplained events. I grew up in a house with many strange occurrences that others also experienced, but I never though of it as being ghost. One common factor I've noticed in ghost stories are some type of tragic event involving the area. Do tragic events leave behind some type of energy, or lasting imprint? That's a question that has many people wondering about the presence of ghost.

No way! I am a Naturalist~ believing nothing exists outside of the natural world. That means I don't believe in ghosts, goblins, trolls, fairies, leprechauns, gods, angels, or demons, but sure do have a blast reading about them, and when I'm alone at night......................................... I'm a little more open-minded, haha!

I believe that there is a possibility of ghosts. I am not one to write off on something just because I have not experienced it. I also like to believe that there is a way for our loved ones to reach out to us if they feel it is needed. I Aslo do believe that there are people out there that may be more receptive to the unexplainable. However it is also easily discredited due to the fakes out there that lie to make a buck.

I believe in them. I've had some pretty weird experiences over the years and they have never been good. I'm not sure if there really are "good" ghosts.

This is perhaps the best way to sum up how I feel as well. I thoroughly enjoy ghost investigation shows like Ghost Adventures and things like that, but I'm not 100% certain I could say that unexplained occurrences are ghosts.

Great book that really provides some food for thought! Superstition by David Ambrose
Parapsychologist Sam Towne believes that ghosts come from the human mind, not from "beyond". To prove his theory, he invites eight volunteers, including skeptical reporter Joanna Cross, to take part in an experiment. Based on the famous true-life experiment...the Philip Experiment.
I also really found it amazing to read about the experiment where the group of chicks were able to make the little robot they had imprinted with as their mom, come to them when they were caged several feet away from it!

I personally don't have an opinion about this. It's the same thing as believing in aliens. Some things are not just black and white.
